Admittedly, I don’t always do a very good job at posting fun events on this page. Here is a small snapshot of the fun our lab has together!
October 6, 2022: Marieke successfully defends her dissertation on Bayesian latent class analysis! Congratulations, Dr. Visser!

Sonja went to the 2019 APS conference in New York to talk about priors. She ran into former lab-mates June and Sanne (and Amber!).
It was great to hood Patrice at (a very rainy) commencement in May! And a huge congrats for landing her new job at Facebook!
Sonja and former Ph.D. student, Katie Coburn, lead a very successful workshop on how to build statistical-based Shiny Apps in April, 2019.
Sanne and June meeting up in Arlington, VA. June is doing great in her new job at Gartner!!
Silly faces in October 2018 as we said goodbye to June (now Dr. Yang!). She traveled to Arlington, VA a few days later to start her new job as a Quantitative Researcher at Gartner. Then…a few days after that, our visiting PhD student, Sanne Smid (Utrecht University), left us! We had a great time sending them off in style!
We all got together (along with spouses and kids) for a fun lab party in July 2018. It was good to let loose and have a little fun together!! We also said goodbye to Johnny, who left to start a postdoc position at Penn State shortly after.
We had many conference activities in May 2018. Sarah gave a workshop on Bayesian latent variable modeling at the conference for the Association for Psychological Sciences in San Francisco. Sonja, Johnny, and Marieke (joining the lab in the Fall) all presented on their work. Meanwhile, June presented at her favorite conference (Modern Modeling Methods Conference) at UConn.
It was SO much fun hooding Johnny Felt and June Yang at Commencement May 12, 2018! Congratulations!!
We had a great time sending Sanne (visiting PhD student) back home (but we already miss her!!). Homemade pizza and bakery treats! November 2017
